Paneer sandwich has a special place in my life as I am fond of this sandwich since childhood. My mom always used to prepare this sandwich for my evening milk. After growing up, we started to have this yummy sandwich with evening tea. In mom kitchen, paneer is always available in the refrigerator because she often prepares paneer sandwich or paneer bhurji with paneer.

 Paneer sandwich is one of the easiest sandwich recipes with paneer stuffing. I have prepared my mom style paneer sandwich with a little twist where have added onion and capsicum but we can add any other chopped or grated veggie too. I also add cheese when I prepare it for junior “A” especially.



  • Paneer 100 gm/ 3/4 cup
    Onion 3 tbsp chopped
    Capsicum/bell pepper 1 ½ tbsp. chopped
    Green chillies 1 finely chopped
    Chat Masala 1 tsp
    Salt to taste / ¼ tsp
    Cilantro 1 tbsp chopped
    Garam Masala 1 pinch
    Bread 4 slices
    Desi ghee 2 tbsp.


Step 1

Take the paneer and grate it in the bowl. Add chopped onion, capsicum/bell pepper, and green chilies.

Step 2

Mix it well then add cilantro, chat masala, salt and garam masala. Mix it well again. If you preferred the spicy flavor, add ¼ tsp. red chilies. Take a bread slice and spread a tbsp. of paneer stuffing on the bread.

Step 3

Place the second bread over on the top. Press it slightly so that stuffing doesn’t come outside. Heat a griddle over medium heat and drizzle some desi ghee over the griddle. You can spread some butter/ ghee over bread too.

Step 4

Carefully transfer the bread to the griddle and spread some desi ghee on the top layer of bread.

Step 5

Toast it till golden brown and then flip the side and cook. While cooking press the bread with a flat ladle to get evenly brown toast.

Cut into preferred shape and serve with ketchup and hot tea/ coffee / Milk.


1. You can add any vegetable of your choice.

2. If you like spicy paneer sandwich then add ¼ tsp of red chilly powder.

3. I have used white bread but brown bread is healthy option.

4. You can toast over toaster, griddle or can use sandwich maker as well.

5. For evenly brown color, lightly press the sandwich while toasting.
