Chickpea belongs to legumes family, which contains a lot of fiber, minerals, protein and vitamins. Chana chaat is very quick Snack recipe if you have leftover boiled chickpeas. This salad is the good option for tiffin and evening snacks to get for energy.
Chickpea/ chana chaat is very famous street food in northern India. Street vendor normally adds potatoes and banana in it but I did not add potatoes or banana because I want to prepare a healthy version for munching without sin. You can add potatoes/bananas as needed.
Chickpeas/Kabuli Chana 1-½ cups (boiled) Onion 2 tbsp.(Chopped) Cucumber 3 tbsp.(Chopped) Tomato 2 tbsp. (Deseeded and Chopped ) Green chilly 1 tsp. finely chopped Chaat masala ½ tsp. Amachur (Dry mango Powder) ¼ tsp. Lemon juice 1 tsp. Cilantro 1 tbsp. finely chopped
In a mixing bowl add chickpeas chopped onion, chopped cucumber and chopped tomato.
Mix it well. Add green chilly and cilantro.
Mix it again. Now add lemon juice, chaat masala, amchur and mix it well
Chana chaat is ready to serve. While serving you can add nylon sev too.
- 1. While adding chana in mixing bowl make sure there should not be any water. Water should be properly drained.
- 2. If you like hot and spicy, you can add more red chili powder.
- 3. For crunchy flavor you can add crushed poori/papdi while serving.
- 4. Instead of lemon juice you can use tamarind pulp.
